HELLO WORLD! i know i haven't blogged in eons. and it seems as if i died or smth. but i've just been way too busy to log in, type some crap, and then disappear into my pile of work again. well, life's been pretty much the same.. but there is a special reason for blogging today, and that's cos i want to mark down 3 july as a special day. =)
zk met my family for the first time, proper. dad and mom are ok with him, in fact mommy just asked me if we were saving up for our future, planning for a flat etc. natural qn i guess, since she knows we've been tgt for 4 years. plus, both dad and mom know i intend to settle down and have a family by the age of 26 or so. im extremely happy with the way things are now. no longer do i have to hide the fact that im dating him, neither do i need to come up with excuses or lies when we stay out late tgt. after 4 long years, things turned out well. finally.
another good reason to update this blog is to mark my double promotion. in less than a year in advertizing, i managed to make my way up to AM (Account Manager) position. oh, for those who don't know the advertizing 'ladder', it is from AE (Acct Exec) to SAE (Snr Acct Exec) to AM to SAM, then to AD (Acct Director) and SAD (Snr Acct Director). that's for the account servicing side, which im in. this double promotion definitely didnt come easy, but im just very glad that my hard work paid off, and this pleasant surprise came timely. my original plan was to move on after a year, another ad agency perhaps, just to gain more exposure and experience. but since this came along the way, i'd stay on for a longer period of time, learn more things before moving on and (hopefully) jumping to a higher position in the next agency. proud to say that nobody has had a double promotion in less than a year in my current place. somehow, i must've been doing some things right. =)
now it's all about work, zk, and family. hardly have time for friends nowadays. just the occasional meetups, dinners etc. everyone's just been way too busy. but once in a while i do drop random messages to the 'long-lost-pals', just to see how they're doing. so far so good, everyone seems to be doing well. but some arent too happy with the place they're working in. which then makes me think that im so lucky to fulfil my dream of working as a Suit in an ad agency. not to mention, nice colleagues, nice boss, great working culture. of cos we whine and bitch about work, but nothing is perfect. i do believe that i am blessed, and someone up there is really taking care of me.
